    So i found a Hp slate on the road today..weird SSD type drive.. some questions

    Ok so i found a semi broken hp slate on the side of the road to day..
    screen is cracked.. maybe just the outer glass.. was snapped apart.. but nothing looks broke on the inside of it..
    was looking for a way to charge it since ive never owned a slate.. so i took it apart and i run across a this drive.. super small but with a
    regular sata connection on it.. but to big to be a msata..

    I've plugged the drive in and it works.. 64gb adata ssd is what it reads out as.. fully functional.. so worse case i scored a free funky ssd lol..


    so any one have experience with the hp slate? any advice?
    after i hack this thing back together ill post more pics.. hopefully its just the outer glass thats broke and the screens good..
    any way of just testing the screen?

    I think the repair cost will cost way more than the slate itself,

    maybe you could use the ssd for your os and use your HDD as a data drive

    but make sure the its functioning perfectly since its been exposed to the weather. I havnt used one in a while, can anybody recommend a disk health program?

    ah lol.. I know what to use.. I was more talking about the drive size.. since its wrapped in(tin foil) lol i wasnt sure if it is really a msata drive or is it just a funky sized ssd?

    Looks like hilt size sata ssd. Nothing too extraordinary, there used to be half height IDE drives for portable drives before zif drives took over.

    Not sure if there is a VGA/hdmi out, if there is one, maybe you can use it as a cheap computer otherwise find a dead slate and move working components over :)

    on a side note i might just keep it and slap my killer card in there and add an antana and have a network fast little dodad haha..
