Well there is a thread for people who own an HDX16t, so you'd probably get more response there ^_^

    But to answer your questions...

The 9600M GT in the HDX16t will be more than enough to play most new games at comfortable settings(not necessarily the highest, but at a decent setting/resolution).

As far as I know, the bigger chassis than the dv5t allows for better cooling so the HDX16t has not had any heating issues as far as I've heard.

The battery life is decent, goign between 2-3h and considering the size it's pretty good.

Ermm, battery life is just about 110 minutes at 50% brightness, using wifi. That is the weakest part about the laptop. I also would have preferred a second HDD slot, but I assume that couldn't be fit in the chassis. The 9600 GT is pretty decent, I've been playing fallout now on high/ultra, 1360 x 768, 2xAA, 4xAF and it runs 90% smooth. Mine is fitted with the T9600, and my 9600 is overclocked (since I have a good cooler) though, so don't expect quite the same results stock. The screen is great, even the smallest text is legible to sharp eyes. Here on NBR, the page stretches all 1920 pixels, which is quite nice :) I've played blu ray movies on HDTVs with the HDMI port just fine. The built in speakers are pretty good for a laptop, but don't expect it to replace a good pair of headphones or speakers. Oh and one more thing... it's a fingerprint magnet! You'll use the included cloth often :D

I've been disappointed with the physical design of the 12 cell cattery. Mine doesn't fit tightly and so rocks slightly. This is annoying.

Also, the battery is about 8 inches long and mounts just off the center back of the underside. Since the laptop is nearly 15 inches long, there is between 3 and 4 inches on either side of the battery on the underside. When I want to sit in my lazyboy with the HDX 16t on my lap and surf the web, the battery becomes particularly uncomfortable as it must fit between my legs (unless I put it on a book or something.). Anyway, I don't like the uneven bottom when the 12 cell is in. I much prefer the physical design of the 6 cell.
