Those of you that wanted an Envy14 with the Radiance and don't like the BV display, what are you buying instead?

My fallback is a MacBook Pro 15, I'd actually prefer a T410s, but the display is terrible quality.

Without having owned one, I would instantly recommend anyone who wanted an Envy 14 w/ Radiance to look at the Dell XPS 15 instead.

I kind of want an XPS 15 instead of my 2nd-week Envy 14 w/ Radiance...

I really feel like the MBP is the closest competitor.

    Also interested in replies.

It starts at $1900. I'd say that's higher than an "entry" level 15" MBP -- and about on par thereafter.

An Envy with BV with $700 discount and 256GB SSD for $900. I bought the Radiance from the HP Parts store and swap it out with BV then sell the BV on ebay.

I still got an Envy 14 with Radiance off of eBay, since after doing my homework it was the exact laptop I wanted without making any compromises. The Dell XPS 14 was my second choice, and I would have purchased a 1600x900 display and swapped it out. It has been getting good reviews, especially the audio. MBP is too expensive. I also considered a Sony Z refurb/clearance from the Sony Outlet. Not sure if the 20% off coupon works still, but there were some Z's you could get for $1300 after coupon and with 128gb SSD (64gb RAID'ed) and 1600x900 screens. Great little laptop, I tried one out at a Sony store and was impressed.
