I placed an order for a dv6t qe on the 18th of June and I had used a 33% off coupon and saved $600+ on my build. Which I was happy about. But then I heard about the dynamic video switching issue and became concerned. Though I thought I'd let it slide. Then I found out the bluray drive I paid for is now a free upgrade option. GRRR.. And to top it off, I was supposed to have a ship date of the 28th of June ten days after my order. Not bad. But now I got an email saying it's delayed until the 13th of July! Almost a month and that doesn't include shipping time. What a bunch of crap.

So im trying to decide if I should cancel my order or not. Also I wonder if I could call and complain and maybe get some money back either for the inconvenience and or for the rip off on paying for the bluray that's now free. What do you guys think? If I call and ask for compensation what is the best way to go about it? Or should I just shop elsewhere?

If the order gets delayed past the estimated ship date then HP normally send out a 15% off coupon automatically. Some people have had success calling in and getting a better discount. So, doesn't hurt to call in & ask about the delay.

i used the live chat and they told me they put in a claim for 75$ back, pending approval from their credit department.

as for the discount for the delay do you think they would add that to the 33% off i got from the coupon?

i imagine that if you had already put in the order which would mean to "buy" it through the hp website or by phone then the 33% off should still apply to the upcoming order even if its delayed.
did they mention why they delayed it?

i dont think you should cancel your order. your getting a good machine for a very good price using the 33% discount plus another 75$ back!.

I just got an email saying this,
But I also called in this morning and asked if it would ship today, could it be because of that? They never specified in the email or on the phone they would send me an email.

this was the closest thing to a reason in the email "Due to an unplanned delay in the production process, we will be unable to ship your customized order by the original estimated ship date. "

yeah i saved $641.52 with my 33% coupon and the $75 would make it $716.52 in savings
