So, I don't get the wrong graphics card, but how can I change the video memory?

I just got my v2000z at noon. I was happy with it until I found my video memory was only 32MB (Propertities->Settings->Advanced->Adaptor). God, my graphics card should be with 128MB video memory! But soon I realized those addtional ports were there, so maybe it was not the wrong one?

Is the video memory automaticallly distributed(since I have only 256M sys memory now)? Can I change it in BIOS? Actually I am not 100% sure whether or not this is the right graphics card. BTW, I didn't get any disc (oh, except the aol stuff). (At least I paid $10 for that Microsoft Works & Money!)

No matter which version of the card you got, you still can bump it to 128mb. Go to the BIOS and change the memory 32-64-128. Yet, if you only have 256mb ram I don't think it's worth it because anything above 32 will severly affect you Windows performance.
Yet, check it just to see that you can do it.

Um, doesn't it dynamically assign system RAM to the graphics chip based on need?

No. If there's no BIOS setting to manually adjust it, it's automatically assigning RAM based on the total system RAM available. Since 256MB is barely enough to run Windows it's using the minimum video RAM setting. Save up for a nice Crucial PC3200 1GB SODIMM or two. (Or at least a 512MB stick.)

In these boxes, I believe you must have 512MB or above RAM to adjust the video memory.

Thank you guys. I'll buy a 1G memory and a logitech mouse shortly. Very happy with my v2000z.
