Ok, now I'm sure that I can replace my laptop's cpu with merom.
    So I've looked up t7600, t7400, t7200 ( those FSB is 667 ) on Ebay.
And some t7400 & t7200 are using socket 479 and some are 478.
I checked my laptop(dv5178us) and it has socket 479 mPGA.
And I heard that these two types (479,478) are not compatible each other.

Now, what should I do?
All t7600,t7400,t7200 are using socket 479 or there are another type?
if there is two types, do i have to find socket 479 t-series?

    thanks in advance. :)

What CPU do you have now? Even if the pin count is the same, the physical layout may be different.

    Socket 479 mPGA = Socket M.

    All t7200, 7400, and 7600 processors are Socket M. It's their mistake.

Alright, I've looked up your notebook. You have the T2300 right?

The T2300 is part of the original Core Duo series of processors, which means you should be pin compatible with the CPUs you are looking at.

Skeete has the socket right too.
