Hi, I'm having no trouble getting the T.V to display a clone of what I have on my laptop. But after playing around in the 'display setting' of Vista and 'Nvidia control panel', I can't get it so whenever I'm running a video and close the laptop's lid (I have it set so the display shuts down) and still have the video running on the T.V.

I also can't get it so the video is display in full screen on the T.V. even when I have the video minimized or docking on my laptop.

I could do both in Windows XP before on my desktop (video is still running in full screen on the T.V. when I turn off the monitor and/or have the video player minimized).

I'm using VLC player and Windows Media on Vista Home Premium 32 bit.

Is there an option or setting somewhere to make it so when I close the lid there is still video running on the T.V., and have it play at full screen on the T.V. even when I don't have it at full screen on my laptop?

You need to have the lid set to do nothing for the video to continue with the lid closed. What if you output to only the TV, does it still not go into full screen?

What do you mean output to only the T.V? I can't seem to find that option.
I see an option to clone your laptop, and using your T.V as your main monitor.

I want to have it set so when I shut the lid the display turns off to conserve battery when I watch a movie on dvd or something. There should be a way for the video to display even when I have the monitor off or in sleep mode. I could be wrong though.

The switching off of the laptop display when folded is a direct action of the switch lid. The settings in the operating system are for extra control which is whether you want it to do nothing (ie. only switch it off), suspend the pc, or shut it down. Which model of laptop are you talking about?
