Ergh. Sorry if these questions have been answered before but I couldn't really read through nearly 8000 posts in the owners' lounge to find them. I have watched quite a few lengthy video reviews but they generally only mention basic things, or seem quite clueless about some of the more inner workings of the system.
So my questions are rather specific with regards to the dv6tqe:
Does anyone have the 1080p screen? Could you comment on the quality? Are the viewing angles great?
How does the switchable graphics work exactly? I currently have an Optimus system and the switching is seamless, there is no lag or blinking of the screen when switching. Most applications don't require configuring and it goes from the Intel HD when browsing the internet to the Nvidia chip when I launch a game with no actions required on my part. I feel like the ATI switching system is different. I am also concerned about the drivers. From what I understand the switching capability is more of a HP implementation than from AMD. Because of this the drivers must always come from HP and from what I understand the drivers are already outdated compared to the version on AMD's site. This is a huge turnoff for me especially when this laptop is removed from sale from HP's site and support for it quickly goes down the drain. Am I justified in feeling this way?
How is the cooling system? What are the sound levels like when idle, browsing internet, playing video, high definition video, and finally gaming/stress testing?
Likewise, what are the subjective temperatures like in those stages?
For comparison my Acer laptop with the quad core and a 540m is completely silent and almost completely cool when idle, browsing, and playing back 720p Youtube video (Intel HD). In a perfectly quiet room I have to put my ear to the vent to hear that system is actually running. During gaming (540m) there is noticeable increase in fan noise and heat, although I wish the fan would ramp up higher to exchange heat for noise. Because of this I use a notebook cooler when gaming or when the weather is particularly warm.
Which wireless card is used for the Bluetooth option? Would it be better to save the $25 upgrade fee and buy an Intel 6230 wireless card?
Are there any weird quirks like LCD or chipset whine? A random shoddy piece of casing? Flimsy feeling power port?
Has anyone taken this system apart completely? I'm curious how difficult it would be to change the thermal paste on the heatsink. I know that HP generally puts out very detailed service manuals for free.
Finally, would it be possible to find a Japanese keyboard for this laptop? I don't mind buying either from HP or from a third party, as long as it fits and has the same styling as this laptop. I might have to contact HP directly to see if this is possible.
Sorry for the barrage of specific questions but amateur reviews are really missing out on the subtleties of what makes a system desirable or not. I have not yet been able to find professional reviews of this system yet.

regarding chipset whine, it does have a little, but you have to put your ear next to the laptop in order to really hear it. I think most or all laptops have chipset whine. But my DV6TQ has very very minimum whine.
