After doing a clean install because of this driver, I was determined not to lose half my volume again, so I installed the next newest driver: 4.15.0.50 A.

Same problem-even at 100%, you can hardly hear it. What do I do now?

Since I had no problems with the MS driver, I knew it had to be the driver. I went through the adanced properties of the driver and found a loudness setting. In the setting, it has the option for theatre or office. I picked office and now the loudness is normal-for a laptop that is.

To all responders: Thanks for trying.

Sorry guys, but you are wrong. I have had NO problems with speaker volume until this new and unimproved driver. The one that Vista installed with the clean install was 100% louder. It is NOT a hardware issue.
