    Hi!

Just bought my new HP nx7300 and tried a clean install of XP Pro on it. I've managed to install all the drivers but the ones for the sound card. Apparently Windows does not recognize it and can't find hardware description (INF) for the card: it says in Device Manager "Unknown Device".

I have figured out that I need to install MSUAA which is required by SoundMax drivers, however until Windows figures out that Unknown device is actually the sound card I'm stuck :( .

Does anyone have an INF for the sound card on nx7300 (ACPI\HPQ0006 Device Id) or can suggest another solution or workaround how to get sound working.

I have made two DVD iso backup files from the original installation install, but don't have any DVDs to burn them on, and I would really like to get sound working without having to revert to the original software that came preinstalled.

    Thanks in advance!

You need to install the Microsoft UAA bus before installing the audio driver ;)

Have you tried searching HP's site for the driver?
