I'm one of the Panasonic regulars, so HP stuff isn't my knowledgeable areas.

My brother was able to score a cheap HP nc6400 that needed some work, missing some pieces, etc a while ago. He sent it to me to fix up, modify a little, and sent it back to him. One of the missing pieces was the power adapter.

I bought a cheap power adapter on eBay and until yesterday it worked dandy, but now it starts smelling like it's melting, and will trip the GFI or circuit breaker.

So, all that's out of the way... We want to get an adapter that won't do that in 3 months, but I don't see anything of quality on eBay...

    Any ideas?
