I did not realize it is possible to buy an HP Care Package extended warranty via 3rd party sellers. I was also suprised to find they are around 10%-20% cheaper then directly though HP.

What you need to do is first find what warranty packages are available for your system then simply google the part numbers.

You can check your warranty info here You may have to create an account on the HP site to get there but that takes a few minutes is all. Eventually you will find a page showing all the warranty/care packages your system is eligible for and even d/l the list as an excel file. But there you get the HP part numbers you can use to search via your fav search engine to start hunting for discounts.

So far I found that Provantage offers decent discounts on the packages. Still have time to shop around some more though.

Just thought I would pass this along since everyone has a budget and even $50 can make the difference in the ability to get a warranty.

One thing is I am not sure if these packages purchased through 3rd partys are part of the HP deal where you get a full refind on the package if you do not use it...
