I seemed to recall that some stores like Best Buy had available special versions of the hp 1000 series notebooks. They would come with a different cover on the notebook itself. Have they been phased out, or am I simply misremembering?
If they did in fact exist, how many different ones were there?

I don't know how many different ones there were, but the Best Buy flyer from last Sunday had the Lance Armstrong one advertised (in the Seattle, WA area).

The special dv5000 has the black exterior with the regular black interior. Basically all black and whatever is blue on the regular dv5000 series is red.

???? Really? Are there any pics of it out on the net? The only one I thought there was the L2000(basically a Compaq v2000, but with a black shell and LIVESTRONG on the case front). -
Yea, go2 bestbuy.com and its the special edition.
I wanted one, but I wanted my specific specs. -
Looks nice, but its in a old shell, and has a less powerful processor.
-
That's why I didn't want it.
My dream laptop is the black interior (from dv5000t) and the imprint finish shell (black exterior). The specs sucked as well. If hpshopping.com offered it custom, I'd be all over it. -
Hypothetically, you could put a Merom in that, some more memory, and that would be a nice second notebook.
Special editions of the hp 1000 series?
