I need to replace my Asus Zenbook i7 processor (gen 2) 4mb ram 128 ssd

I've decided on the spectre 360 over the Dell XPS 13 as I found the dells keyboard a little small and now need to find the ideal spec for my new machine. I'm fixed on a full HD screen rather than quad HD unless anyone convince me otherwise (what real difference does it make to battery drain ?) and definitely 8gb ram and I think a 256 ssd as my current drive is only about 70% full so 256 should be more than adequate.

My main problem is the processor as I'm reluctant to come down from an i7 to an i5 but am wondering if the additional £100 is worth it the laptop is for general use and some photo editing but its not the main use. Would the £100 be better spent on a bigger ssd or is the performance increase worth it. Is the i5 6th gen better than my i7

    thanks
