Speculation - DV6 Special Editions to get 1920x1080 screens?

My only complaint with the DV6 Special Editions is the very low resolution screens in them. ASUS has begun to offer more 15.6" laptops with full hd screens earlier this year. Sony in the past month has introduced full hd screens on their 15.6" laptops (EB series) as options in the US (previously only offered overseas), and now Dell has made it an option on their XPS 15 line. With several manufacturers offering these screens on their mid-line series (which I consider the select series of HP's to be equivalent too), I think we could be getting full hd screens for these laptops soon too. Afterall, with more companies offering these screens, that means more screen manufacturers are ramping up the supplies, bringing down their costs.

    Any thoughts?

I hope you can order the screens themselves from HP. I wouldn't mind upgrading mine.

I really wish they would. That is one of the main things preventing me from getting a Pavilion dv6 SE as well. 1366x768 on a 15-inch? Come on. This is HP. They should do better than that.

My old clunky 7 pound 15-inch Dell from 2006 has a higher resolution than that...

bah...they just going the cheap route :D

Heck, the previous gen dv6 has much better screen even at the same crappy res.

I couldn't wait, had to get it due to its very low price at the time.

Anyways, I wonder if they make it only work on specific motherboard revision.

I wanna see if that guy who's currently putting an envy screen on the Dv6 works it all out. Now that would be awesome :)
