Assuming Speedfan is correct and those are indeed my processor, what happened to my hd temperature and fan speed?

I was also wondering what kind of temperatures you get. I get around 23C and 25C running baisc word processing and firefox, which seems kind of low after reading that 30C to 40C is the norm (not that this is a bad thing :D .)

different programs are optimised for different types of sensors. maybe the sensor in your fan wont match up with the speed fan program. or the fan is not registered as cpu fan as in my case. my fan speed is detected as the GPU fan speed. infact most laptops only contain only one fan for the entire system. try using some other programs like HWmonitor or everest

    Two things:

Those temps are not correct, you need to download the 4.34 beta of Speedfan because you have a Core CPU.

To see more temp readings, run Speedfan as admin.

try using a different program besides speedfan. It seems to unaccurate and it doesnt even show what exactly its measuring

    Theres HwMonitor and CoreTemp

Thanks everyone. I followed jwffdtuwny's advice and downloaded beta 4.34

    Yikes this is not good.
Any idea what Temp 1 and 2 can be? I'm still missing fan speed though. Any ideas?

Temp 1 could be your ACPI controller, and Temp 2 could be your GPU. You can also check by clicking on 'Configure' and under the Temperatures tab it lists what each sensor chip is.

That's strange. A 10 degree C difference in my core temperatures?

HWmonitor is correct. No way it can run that cool. This is why i dont recommend speedfan

Either use HWMonitor or Coretemp. You can make these run at startup using Task Scheduler.

Is there any way to stop UAC from popping up every time I want to run HWMonitor?

Don't get me wrong, I do want to keep UAC for security purposes, but is there an "UAC-exclude" list so that I can add HWMonitor to?

Nope! The program needs to be approved by microsoft. just turn the whole UAC thing off, it is very annoying and useless.
