Lately, I'm either too stressed or I'm hearing a high pitched squeak coming from the right side of my laptop  . I'm thinking it might be the hard drive because the fan vents are at the back left and the sound is there even when the fan gets kicked up a notch. The squeaking is periodic, and I noticed that it's been doing it more and more lately.

The last time IT looked at my laptop for a corrupt sector, I found out it's a Fujitsu in there.

Am I safe to assume my drive is on its way out?

I suggest you back up important stuff and run a diagnostic tool. See the manufacturer of the HDD and find such a tool on the Internet.
High pitched sounds are characteristic for HDD failure.
