Lately, I'm either too stressed or I'm hearing a high pitched squeak coming from the right side of my laptop. I'm thinking it might be the hard drive because the fan vents are at the back left and the sound is there even when the fan gets kicked up a notch. The squeaking is periodic, and I noticed that it's been doing it more and more lately.
The last time IT looked at my laptop for a corrupt sector, I found out it's a Fujitsu in there.
Am I safe to assume my drive is on its way out?

I suggest you back up important stuff and run a diagnostic tool. See the manufacturer of the HDD and find such a tool on the Internet.
