Stain around the edges!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello all,ive had this problem for awhile now close to 6 months,their appears to be a sort of staining around the edges of my monitor it was real dark then it lighted up a bit.Ive never spilled anything on it but at one time my cat slept on it with the lid closed,then shortly after that this problem occured.
I wonder if it's moisture that got under their,any ideas!!!!anybody think if i opened it up i could wipe it away,or is a new screen in order.
This is a compaq c500us nootbook,thanks for any help.....

It looks like the lcd is delaminating
The screen consists of several layers within a housing
Push gently on a spot and see if it clears up to confirm

But i forgot to mention that this staining wasnt as bad as it is now it started off as i little around the edges to alot.
I did push on some spot's but no change ..!!!!!!!!
I guess im screwed eh.........

 

Ok how about this question,does anybody know of a good place online that does screen replacement that has a good reputation and good price or a place in the state of Oklahoma,thanks.

 

Evaluate the value of used C500US and cost of a new comparable notebook before you replace the screen.

Using the notebook as a desktop with an external screen and keyboard may be the best use for your notebook.

Or, buy a new notebook with a warranty. With prices starting <$400 this is a better option

A new screen is $99 on ebay, add on the installation is another $100 minimum unless you diy.

 

First a few questions

1: Why is there a pentium 2 sticker on it
2: did your cat pee on it or somthing. I tried to clean a screen with rubbing alcohol once and spilled some on the screen and it got inside of the corner of it

I dont really want to buy another laptop just cause screen is messed up,heck ive only had it for a year and a half.i also upgraded ram to 2gigs and it has vista HP on it.
This laptop is also my main pc i use it for all media and programs.2 gigs of ram really made this laptop run.i know newer and better laptops are cheap now but i would like to get a few years outa this one.
The reason the pentuim 2 sticker is on it i dropped a phillips head screw driver head their made a dent so i used sticker to cover it.
And no the cat didnt pee on lid,i think the smell would be bad if so.I wonder if it could be humidity build up.
I would spend up to 150.00 or so to fix it,if its more than that i might just live with it......

 

Well i found a brand new screen on ebay for 67.56 bucks free shipping from a place called screensfast,has a 99.2% approval rating,so it looks like ill be getting this replacement,getting my laptop back in order..watch you guys think good deal!....

 

well i got my new screen in today and just finished installing it.It was a little tricky with some of the small screws but if you take your time and have lots of patience it will work out.
Its nice to have a bright,clear screen.
I would highly reccomend screensfast on ebay,fast shipping and a great price for a new screen,i paid 67.56 for this screen.
Also no dead pixels .
Now i can enjoy my laptop again with a nice glossy screen.....
