I have a new dm1-4010us ultra portable. Nice little rig. First thing I did when I opened it was to run the Minimized Ssystem Image.
One little quirk I'm trying to solve now. When I start the computer it boots up to the login screen rather than going straight to the desktop, which is my preference.
Also, when it goes to the login screen it shows two accounts: my account, and then a second one which has my name on it and the Bluetooth iconIf I go to control panel>accounts, that mysterious account isn't listed.
Can someone shed some light on this? Thank you.

By "icon", are you meaning "account picture"?
I suppose the first thing I would do is to verify which accounts are active via MMC. I do not know if it is the same in Windows 7, however, you can try going into your start menu under "accessories". Select "run" (or it may simply be on your start menu without going into "programs")and type in "compmgmt.msc" (no quotes). Verify all accounts under "users". Guest and Administrator accounts should be disabled. Only your account should be active. And a password on any networked, Windows-based PC is recommended. -
Yes, I am referring to the account picture. The PC now starts and goes straight to the desktop. However, when I close the lid and put it to sleep, upon awakening it goes back to the login screen with both accounts visible.

You have discovered the conspiracy. Run for your life!
Anyways, have you tried to log into that account? -
Hehe. When I try logging in to the account, nothing happens.

I would wonder then if it is just a characterisitic of the bluetooth functionality in Windows 7? Could be set up that way in order to maintain your sync/pairing, with whatever it is set up with, during sleepmode.
i.e... some users have bluetooth enabled for/on their smartphones to receive and make calls from their notebooks or have them paired with fax/printers (possibly networked). In an enterprise situation, it would suck not receiving an important call or fax just because your machine put itself to sleep. Just guessing here, but it kind of makes sense to me. In all, as long as you have verified all the active accounts, on your notebook, I wouldn't pay it too much mind, IMO. -
Agreed. It's a minor detail. More curious than anything else.

You need to go to Power Options in Control Panel. Then select 'Require a Password on Wakeup' from the list on the top left. Then click on the line that says 'Change settings that are currently unavailable'. Then tell it not to ask for a password on wake up.
This sort of thing happened to me before.
