What's the current state of the nvidia drivers on vista? I've got the 8400gs in my dv9500t, and I want to run Vista 64bit. I remember a while ago there was a big problem with nVidia drivers and Vista in general. Does anyone know if that's been resolved?
Is it a good idea to install the most recent drivers from nvidia's site, or does HP make specific mods that makes it better to stick with them?
I can never keep up with the drivers "drama" that goes on...

I don't believe that you'll be able to install drivers from nVidia. You're stuck with either whatever HP provides, or modded ones such as from LaptopVideo2Go

I think you CAN install the drivers from nvidia.

You can install drivers from NVIDIA. Just go to their website under downloads and get the latest driver.

Wait a minute, since when did nVidia start supporting laptop GPU's with their drivers? Is this a new thing for the 8m series?
