Could somebody outline the steps that I need to take in order to send my notebook in to HP for warranty repairs? There's this humming sound that pops up randomly at times so I want HP to see if there's a problem before the warranty expires.

    Thanks in advance.

I'd pull the HDD and place it in the box they should be sending you, that's about it.

When I sent mine in to the Cali HpRepairCenter about 3 weeks ago, I had to supply my own box...so, I naturally went with the guaranteed box from Fedex designed exclusively for laptops...runs $10 @ Kinko's incl. all padding/support/etc.

Basically backup your stuff, and remove/delete anythink you dont want them to see and pack it in a secure box and ship it.
