    Hi,
My touchpad is now quite sticky in the middle. Probably wear due to usage (quicker than I expected). Is there a way to make it as smooth as before? I tried clean it with soap but no help.

    Thanks,

Try rubbing alcohol, that should remove any of the sticky residue left behind by many things. It works well on removing the sticky gunk after taking off a sticker, so it should definately help ur cause.

Good to see I wasn't the only one who thought it was a little on the sticky side.

Rubbing alcohol doesn't do the trick.
I think the coating might be gone...
    Anyone?

Tempoct, do you have a dv2000z, a v3000z, or a v2000z? Just curious if it had anything to do with the glossyness of the new ones or if you were having a totally different problem.

Thanks for your reply. The driver is not the problem in my case.
When I said "sticky", I meant, physically sticky. I can see the middle of the touchpad is more shine than the edge.
Oh well, I'm gonna try cleaning with some cleaner with "Teflon" and hopefully, it might help.
