First of all sorry if I have posted in the wrong forum.

I have Compaq Presario C772TU Laptop which I bought 2 months back. Since the last 4 days my Laptop's Keyboard is behaving strangely.

    When I press 4 I get 4v
    When I press R I get Rv
    When I press G I get Gv
    When I press B I get Bv

When I open the Notepad to check the keyboard behaviour I saw that sometimes v keeps on printing.

I am having this problem on Linux and Windows both so this is not a OS issue and also when my computer boots it asks for BIOS password and there also v key keeps on printing. It is some Hardware issue.

What could be the cause of this problem?

    Thanks Guys!

    Hi,

Try reseating the keyboard cable, its quite easy. Google for your service manual.

    Hi,

Actually I bought a new Laptop and it is still under warranty. For opening the Laptop I'll have to break the seal and the warranty will be void. Should I take it to service center?

Theres no warranty seals for the keyboard. They wont even be able to tell that you touched it. It only takes 3 screws to take it out

But I suggest you deal with HP support since it does sound like the keyboard itself is the issue. They will probably send you a replacement keyboard module.

Heres the video on how to change it, if you wanna try anyway
