    Hi,

I have an HP Pavilion zv6000 with an AMD Athlon 64 3200+ processor. A couple of days ago, I checked the system information and it said my processor speed was 997mhz. I thought it was weird because I could've sworn it was near 2.0GHz. I checked again yesterday, and again was 997. Today I decided to look up the specs for the comp and it said it was a 2.0GHz processor. When I went back to check today, it's now listed as 1.99GHz as I remember it being before.

Does anyone know why the System Info could have displayed that lower speed for at least two days? Is this something I should worry about?

Most laptops have power saving settings on the CPU's that cause them to slow down or speed up bases on loading. If your computer is sitting idle, the CPU will slow down to save power, which lowers heat.

As long as your programs are running normaly, and you haven't noticed any performence difference, I wouldn't worry about it.
