Strange sound coming from the upper left side of my DV5T

Is it normal for the fan to be making a low pitch kind of grinding sound while just on the desktop?

I don't remmeber my previous DV5t being this loud.

 

NO it isnt, it sounds like a fan fault i havent hared of this so much in HP laptops though, mostly heared of it in macbooks..

Anyone elses DV5T sound loud in the upper left corner of the notebook?

 

Anyone had any type of experiance like this? HP says it will takes 3 weeks for me to get my notebook back if I send it in. And on top of this they will reformat it... which is ridiculous.

 

im experience a loud fan but wouldn't describe it as grinding. my hard drives gotten louder too. this doesn't seem to be good but whatever i need my computer no time to rma. let me know if u send it in and if a fixed dv5t sounds better

 

It sounds like a low but sharp hum.

It is not just the fan. I know what a fan sounds like. Let me try to record this sound and post it somwehre.

This doesn't sound normal.

I put the mic right up to the upper left hand side of the laptop. Right near thw power switch.

Any idea what this is guys?

 

You might need to turn up the volume a bit to hear it clearly.

Mind you it is pretty loud. You can hear it from across the room

Not normal, unless you're gaming which stresses the system. Download a temp monitor and report. Google "hwmonitor"

 

Sending it bck to HP for repairs.
Hope it doesnt get made worse, which is what I am expecting thanks to all the posts here saying HP is uttery crap =/
