Yesterday I had my buddy over, and he was going to transfer his pics from his camera. As I was taking a shower he puts in his Memory stick pro duo (stick for PSP's and Sony cams) in the digital media reader! i get out of the shower and I see him with tweezers trying to get the card out of the reader. So now the card is lodged way down there and I have no idea on how to get it out. Do you guys have any idea how to get a Memory Stick Pro Duo out of the digital media reader?
His dad used to work for HP and knows how to assemble/dissasemble laptops very quickly. If he opened up my laptop would it void the warranty?
We are both frustrated over this but we don't know if there is a way to get the card out without dissasembling the laptop. Thanks in advance.

What model do you have? I think the newer readers on HPs are supposed to work with Memory Sticks pro...
You can take the panels off the bottom without voiding your warranty, but I don't know if you can see the memory card slot on your computer from those panels, though. If your pal's dad can get at it without leaving any trace, though, how would HP know it had been opened if you later need warranty service? Not that I'm condoning it, but if that's the only way you might have to take the risk. -
I think Slappy's way is the best - opening up the laptop and then taking the memory card out. If you open up the laptop, using compressed air to blow out the card might be a good idea. You also might want to try shutting down the laptop, then tipping it over onto its side so the memory card slot faces down. Then gently tap or shake the notebook and see if anything comes out.

I have the ZV6000. I bought it in September so it is fairly new. It says on the laptop it accepts Memory Stick Pro's, but this is a memory Stick Pro Duo which is smaller. I will try the suggestions tommorow. Anyone else have similar problems or know a solution. Thanks again.
