Hey just recived my new HP dv6t with 1080p screen today and I have either a dead or stuck pixel. Have tried a few methods for fixing a stuck pixel with no luck thus far. Trying to decide if I want to send it back and get a replacement and hope it doesn't have any pixel problems. Or just deal with it. What would you do if in my situation? Thanks in advance,
    Matt

Depends on WHERE this dead pixel is located. Unless it is located near the "corners" of the LCD screen where you do not stare at often, I would return it. You know where it is located now, you will ALWAYS know where it is located. When you use your laptop, you will probably focus a lot on it should it be fairly visible. If you don't mind the dot or if it is really not that visible and your laptop is excellent everywhere else, then keep it. I just remembered how that dead pixel on my 20" LCD monitor bothered me a whole lot in the past.

Wish I would have never saw it then I would be fine haha. What do you think the chance are of sending it back and getting one that has a perfect screen? I fear that I may end up with one that is worse then just the one stuck pixel.

If the HP dv6t screen did not cause the same up roar that the Dell XPS m1530 did back then with the WSXGA screen (fuzzy Samsung vs clearer LG), then I would not worry much about receiving a replacement faulty laptop. That being said, will they replace it with a NEW laptop or will they give you a refurbished laptop? Refurbished doesn't mean bad, but just better chance of "other" dings... but I'd take a ding on the surface on the laptop over a dead pixel any day..... if the problem has to do with how I use a laptop everyday (LCD, keyboard, touchpad, palmrest temperature, etc) then it should be fixed, that's how I'd recommend you look at it.

I have to add that I kept my "faulty" Dell XPS m1530 "fuzzy" WSXGA screen because it did not bother me as much as it did bother other people. The rest of my laptop was in perfect condition... 3-4 years later, I'm still happy with the m1530, but it old technology now so I needed to upgrade :)

I would recommend returning the unit if theres a problem. Did you purchase the notebook from HP shopping? They have a 21 day return policy.
