The FedEx guy didn't even attempt to make the delivery! I watched him walk up to the front gate with the "door tag" and then drive off like a bat out of hell! No honking, no attempt whatsoever! So I called FedEx to complain and they're supposedly going to have him "re-attempt" to deliver the package.

I'll definitely be complaining again about that to FedEx and I'll let HP know about it as well.

Next time videotape it & put it on YouTube. It will get popular quick and might end up on the news. :)

I think they do the same to me sometimes, but I didn't witness it like you and have no proof.

UPS on the other hand acts like the police and will bang down your door or leave package with neighbor.

Yes, similar situation happened but it was DHelL - I was home all day awaiting my pair of 24" screens to arrive and when I stepped out to grab lunch I saw the stickers and later saw her smoking and drinking coffee. She never ringed the door! I called and the supe tried to play defense, I said, cut the bs and get her to deliver ASAP - I also called Dell to notify them how DHelL is ruining their business. A manager from Dell called me back to follow up - the DHelL delivery woman delivered apologizing and said she tried but maybe I was busy or the system is broken, I showed her that it wasn't. She lied and I called her out on it with the Dell manager on the phone still. Caught red handed.

I saw a video on YouTube where a Comcast tech decided to take a nap in a homeowners' bed! That is definitely believable.

Happens all the time. Do you guys not have a car out front? it seems as if there's no car they will never even knock!

One day a couple years ago I had a friend wait at my place for an important dropoff of CPU parts (important because my machine was toast). He didn't park in my spot and the UPS guy never knocked. I called up and yelled at them and they had the guy redeliver it.

yes yes yes! similar things happens to me in 2 weeks with FedEx!!

so i was ordering 2 macbooks about a month ago. when it arrived the guy just stamp that i was away before even ringing the bell!!! luckily i was waiting for the macbook to arrive as the apple website told me that it would come on that day. so i open the door and caught him with my package. so it no delays.

the second macbook came on the next week. but because we weren't expecting it; (apple said it would come later) the FedEx send an away note... fair enough... then we call them and said that it would be delivered ASAP... 2 days from then, it arrived, but the same thing again happen, they put the away notice before ringing the door..

lol, so i'm not alone. i wonder whats wrong with them?

I have the same problem with all delivery companies, but not the US Postal Service. I have kind of a steep driveway, and I have watched on numerous occasions as the drivers get out, take a look at the driveway, and just drive off. I think it comes down to how lazy or tired the drivers are that day...

The worst part is that it's always f***ing friday when they pull that, and I wind up waiting an extra 2 days to get my gear!

This isn't the first time this has happened. So I really shouldn't be too surprised.

The last time FedEx delivered something here was in July (I always pick UPS or shop a store that lets me choose UPS) when I signed up with Verizon Wireless. The guy didn't even honk then. He pulled up, got out, left note on the gate. Thankfully I had chosen that moment to look out the window out of curiousity. I had to run out there as fast as I could and get infront of his truck to stop him from pulling away, while waving his stupid little "door tag".

It's been more than an hour since I called and was told they would "attempt" the delivery again... and I use that word loosely because you can't call it a delivery attempt if no attempt was made to contact the owner.

I really don't know what's wrong with them. My cars out there, windows in the house are open. Bah!

I wish I could record it and put it on youtube! Just like that Comcast guy!

Maybe this thread should become the "official" thread for sharing poor experiences with delivery services? :D

Ironically, the only delivery service that has ever been right on and perfect for me was USPS! When I ordered my headphones from audiocubes almost 2 years ago and it didn't get on the regular truck for delivery, a woman got in her own personal truck and drove the package here from the post office. Now thats service!

OT: Just stumbled upon this thread, and couldn't help but put in a jab to Fedex... nothing PC related or anything.. just crappy service at its worst :)

I don't wanna post it here coz it'd be too long.... in summary (if you don't wanna read the whole thing) Fedex service is the worst I've seen from a large courier company...
    Warning: long post : http://www.darrickrochili.com/?p=289

Well I've tried calling them two more times. Each time I was told that they haven't been able to reach that driver yet. I'll call back again at 3. If he doesn't deliver then I'm going to file complaints with FedEx, the BBB, and as many other agencies as I can.

Nah HP paid for shipping. They were sending the system back to me after doing "repairs" which I have yet to see if they were actually performed or not. So we'll see.

Definitely filing complaints if he doesn't come back by 4:30 (the time quoted on the door tag as to when the package will be at the local FedEx building for pickup by me).

right on, thats always the risk you have to take when buying online and in ur case which sucks a risk you have to take when you have to send it thousands of miles away.
