Hi! I am new to this forum, but I was hoping that somebody may be able to help me out. I have a HP pavillion dv6000. Last night, it suddenly shut off while I was using it. (just on the internet, it just turned off...) Since, it has not been able to turn back on. I have tried removing the battery, letting it cool, and just using the power cord and it still will not turn on.

    Any advice or tips??

    thank yoU!

    May be it's the RAM?

Motherboard? If it is just the ram then you are lucky.

Yeah, I'm thinking the motherboard blew...probably a capacitor or a solder joint that failed.

Try reseating every component you can get your hands on. RAM, hard drive, battery, optical drive...anything and everything that doesn't require you to mess with thermal paste.

Does the laptop do ANYTHING when you hit the button?
