I don't know if this is common or not. But for some odd reason my free hard drive space will suddenly increase, without me deleting anything. it has happened more than once. the value in the free hard drive memory in my computer will increase from 3-5gbs. I originally thought it was the my computer deleting unnecessary files by itself, but i dunno because 3-5gbs seem like alot of unnecessary files, using hard drive cleaners i have never cleaned so much junk.
BTW i'm running vista premium on the dv6500

Yes its normal. Vista uses some of the HD space as temporary space

I'd like to know more about this, I have four computers running vista and have never seen this before? I've tweaked my systems using the guide, so maybe thats why I don't see this issue?

You wont really notice it unless you look at your hard drive space everyday. I managed to notice it a few times. I gain or lose around 3gb of hard drive space every here and then

I run disk clean up quite abit, so I think that may be why I always keep most of my hard drive space clear. Let us not forget how much system restore uses.
You are correct. I can't believe that I had my head up my ^&*. I'm clear now. I'm so anal when it comes to recapturing space that I run some form of maintenance more than I play games. My head is clear now. Flipfire I added a point for you.

That should explain my observations as well. I wasn't freaked out as such but thought my memory was sliding lower and lower by the day!
