What's your take?
I cannot really decide.
Spectre is cheaper and Surface Book looks weird. You cannot fully close it. But detachable Tablet and dedicated graphics card.
I dont know what to get. Give me your insights...
Thank you

It depends. Are you looking for a laptop, or a powerful tablet with a clip-on keyboard?

I have both the SP3 and the Spectre x360. I use the Dell Synaptic pen on the HP. I find myself using the Spectre more than the Surface, due to:
- better keyboard (imho)
- easier to use keyboard shortcuts
- ability to use multiple open windows more easily
The Surface Book looks like a beautiful piece of tech. I would love to have one. But for what I do (document management, PhotoShop, research) I really can't justify spending more in order to get a dedicated gpu and detachable clipboard. If I were still in college, I could very well do everything I need with the Spectre. -
I develop and compile on my Spectre. While I'd rather have the Surface Book, the Spectre suffices and is a lot less expensive.

The best looking 2-in-1, is the Spectre (most of all in the new Ash Silver color). The SB, is interesting and no doubt, will be very powerful. I had considered for a few days, returning the Ash Silver Spectre x360 i7 (Skylake), I just bought from Best Buy. Then I decided that I didn't need a D-GPU as the Intel 520, is enough for my needs. Also what really helped me make up my mind is the price; I'm one of those guys who wants the top of the line in whatever brand and model I choose = SB @ $2,500+. Lastly, from what I read, the SB clipboard (lame duck, Microsoft names), can only run 3 hours!!! Why would I want a tablet that can run only 3 hours?!?!?! By trying to give all things to all people, they failed at some, which leads me to wonder what else they failed at. My iPad Air is a thin tablet that can go all day (8 to 10 hours). It does not get too hot and I can climb into bed with it and read books/articles on it, all night if I choose.

You are comparing apples and oranges in my opinion.
Different architecture, CPU, different usages. -
