Hello. I was looking through my C: drive and I saw an SwSetup folder. It's taking up more than 3Gb of my hard drive. Based on my search on its purpose, I found that it contains the drivers for my notebook. I have backed it up on an external HD.

My question is would it be safe to delete the entire content of the SwSetup folder, even though I have backed it up on an external HD? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Yeah, if the backup is in a safe place then there is no harm in deleting it. Do note that by deleting the SWSetup folder HP's application & driver recovery software wont work since it depends on the SWsetup folder. This is not too big of an issue since you will have a nackup of the folder and you can manually install any software/drivers you want.

Bear in mind that if you delete the folder from the computer your backup is no longer a backup but your only copy of that folder.
