I have an HP Pavillion dv9212 laptop running Vista Home Premium.
I'm not sure whether the problem I'm having is Vista or the laptop.

I have my laptop connected to my home theatre system using an HDMI cable.

I have to explicitly choose SPDIF as the sound output in the sound mixer to get sound (video is there all the time). I can switch between SPDIF and analog by changing the config in the sound mixer. BUT I have to reboot the laptop each time for it to take effect.

My question is, is there a way of having the sound mode change (between digital and analog) without having to reboot first?
