Received my HP Envy 15 last night, and was hoping someone could suggest a method to knowing when the switchable graphics are enabled and CPU is turbo'd?

When I ran SWTOR initially the intel graphics ran 10 fps, despite putting swtor.exe in the switchable graphics list. The second time I got the black screen. I installed catalyst preview 12.1 (without the newer CCC, but with the rest of the drivers/apps). It then seemed to run the Radeon with 30 fps and the fan kicked into high. Is there a definitive way to know? Some program or gadget?

Also a way to know when the CPU is Turbo to 3 ghz?

I really like the low to high switch, with low for surfing and high for SWTOR gaming, but I wish there was an definitive indicator.

Also agree with folks the 1920x1080 display is underwhelming, the reds are orange and the golds are yellow. Gonna give it a couple more days.

    Thanks in advance!

The CPU can only turbo up to 3GHz when a single core is active. Otherwise, when both cores are active, the CPU can turbo boost up to 2.7GHz. You can probably use a program like Core Temp to check that.
