Hi
When I take the power out of my HP Pavilion DV6 6053 my laptop looks like it is switching to switchable graphics except the screen messes up and even when I put the power back in I have to do a restart as most things are not viewable including the charmes.
Where can I download the correct driver ? I guess it should be 64bit
Many thanks !
-
just checking it out now.. 245mb !
it seems to work... power out and it dims but all ok
thanks very much dude !!!
hey i have just noticed on the bottom right hand of the screen
Test Mode
Windows 8 Pro
Build 9200
I think the driver must have put it on, the driver not being recognized by Microsoft. How can you get rid of it ? I downloaded Catalyst_12.10_WHQL_UnifL
I ran the following command on CMD as ADMIN to get rid of the testing
Bcdedit.exe -set TESTSIGNING OFF
Now the display is all wrong but viewable. Any ideas ? -
I always have AMD GPU issues. I would try to avoid them in the future if not possible in the present. Sorry

Leshcat drivers cannot load without test mode being enabled. -
from Leshcat 12.10 changelog:
-
it works perfectly in my HP-DV6 6165tx -
Why leshcat? Finally the Official HP drivers are working like a charm.

Thanks for the posts !!!
I am downloading that sp58788.exe file now, I hope it works for my machine DV6 6053. The previous driver works well but I don't want the Test mode. -
I just installed the HP driver (I hope it was HP) and got it to work, I tried just installing it straight without uninstalling it but it still left the test message so I uninstalled the previous version then rebooted but the message was still there. I then CMD a command Bcdedit.exe -set TESTSIGNING OFF which got rid of the message and then installed the HP driver.
Nice to get the driver but I was just wondering was the test only a mode that has to be switched off with bcdedit and nothing more serious ? -
Is there any other graphics driver out there for the 6053 ? The above driver is acting up on my machine, when I take the power out the screen flickers then goes black and eventually comes back. -
It's normal if you are using fixed mode and in the vga selection menu you choose that to use allways the intel on battery.

just untick the setting in the vga select window. (where you can switch between the two vgas, in the middle)
