For all you dv2000t users who made the switch back to XP from vista was if worth it?
I'm contemplating this decision myself so I was curious of the feedback from those who switched.

I running Vista Ultimate with 1 gig of ram and the SP1 update.

    Is it worth the jump?

Mods if this is in the wrong place I apologize before hand.

Try upgrading ram first, you should see performance gain, also follow the vista tweak guide. XP is only worth it if it if you game or run a buisness that requires it.

Honestly, I don't even know why they still sell only 1GB of RAM with Vista. Do yourself a favor and get AT LEAST 2GB of RAM. Most people don't know that Vista runs very slow with only 1GB of RAM and that most people recommend 2GB. You can get 4GB of RAM for under $100, so I would definitely recommend upgrading.

You'll notice a performance gain going from Vista to XP because there is less overhead.

Also, if you haven't done a clean install of Vista I highly recommend it. All the bloatware that comes on your machine slows it down a ton. Do a clean install, add more RAM, and see how it works. If you still aren't happy then I would recommend to go to XP.
