    System Fan Failed

    My dad has a HP desktop(idk what model) but its a general question anyway.
    Right when you power on the system, it says: "ERROR:Sytem Fan Failed. Have Serviced Immediately. System will shut down in 5 seconds."
    Anything we can do without taking it in somewhere?

    Sounds like either the northbridge or CPU fan died. You should be able to replace one of those easily, as long as you know which socket the processor uses.

    Check out newegg.com and you should be able to buy a new heatsink/fan for it. Should take care of your problem.

    And also try not to run the Desktop unless it is required. Could be harmful for your Processor!
