T7300 vs T2400

I was just wondering... on intel chips, it has:



intel core duo 1.8ghz T2400



I was just wondering what does that T2400 mean and what is the difference between the T2400 versus the T7300.



which one is better... etc?









and is the NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS graphics card any good or is it the standard crap?

The t7300 is better (It has 2GHz clock speed vs. 1.8GHz of the t2400, 4MB cache vs. 2MB cache and it has a faster fsb (800MHz vs 667MHz)

The t2400 was part of intel's previous gen laptop processors.

The 8400m gs is faster than the 7400 by about 5-10%

 

would i notice a big difference in performance from switching to t2400 to t7300?

and whats with gigahertz talk? is there a big difference from 1.8ghz to 2.0? and how much of a difference?

 

You would see applications and programs running faster in T7300 than T2400 - like it's been stated, T7300 has 4MB L2 cache while latter has only 2MB, and FSB speed is 800 vs 667Mhz. Gaming and graphics relying programs will benefit more from 8400M GS than from 7400, though both are roughly the same cards.

There's not much difference between 1.8 and 2.0Ghz (only ~200Mhz); but T7300 is Santa Rosa so less power will be consumed and it's faster. Even T7100 (1.8Ghz) will perform better than T2400 even though they are clocked the same.
