I know, I know, don't put any stock in the Windows Vista Experience scores, but this one is strange; I bought a Dell XPS 1530 a couple months ago and returned it, instead going with my new HP DV9700T (couldn't be happier and thank Dell for yanking me around a few times).![]()
The 1530 had a T7500 @ 2.2Ghz w/ 4M cache and produced a 5.2 Vista score for the processor; the 9700 has a T9300 @ 2.6Mhz w/ 6M cache and I got a base of 4.2 for the processor?
What am I missing? Perhaps there are some settings to tweak, turn things off, something that was set differently on the XPS? I am perplexed.

Video card for starters.

First things First: WEI is the worst benchmark in the history of computers. Id rather use FPS in solitaire than WEI. My computer has 4GB 800mhz ram + heat spreaders, and it gives it 5.4, while my desktops is like 400MHz ram and its like 5.6 WTF?!? Itsreally un releaible and gives different scores to the same computer

Cus the program sucks.

Try running it again. I have a DV2700T with T9300 at 2.5 and get a 5.4 on the processor. Overall score is a 4.1 due to the graphics.
-
I am burning the recovery disks now, preparing to blow it out with a clean install, but will run it again before I get stated. -
I have a dv6500se with the same specs except a 8400M and get a 3.4. WTF?
-
Yea, 5.4 for the processor...glad to see the same processor produces the same score.
I swear I ran it again when I saw the 4.2...strange.

Encode. Decode. Dyslexia. -
use wPrime guys
-
^ yes that is the best cpu test
-
My brand new HP with T9300 (see the sig) shows 5.4 for CPU, but because of graphics (4.1), the overall is 4.1...

MS designers should get a medal of crap for the implementation of WEi. I tis the absolute worst benchmark Windows ever got. So, OP, don't bother to worry with it.

WEI = Epic Fail
anyway...
if you are going to do a clean install anyway, use a Vista disc instead of the Restore discs
T9300 @ 2.6Ghz w/ 6M cache: 4.2 Vista Experience?
