i just checked hp/compaq website and they got rid of the X1000/ZT3000 series laptops!

Seems like everything else is the same except the new X6000 series laptops!

They added a 256MB DDR Ram ATI X600 dedicated graphic card!

Now finally compaq can compete against their sister company HP's ZD8000's 256 mb card!

I was pretty close to ordering the x1000, but now i guess ill go with the x6000

For around $1500 (student discount) a p4 3.2 ghz w/ht, 512 ram, 80 gb (5400) hd, dvd/cdrw, 256mb ati x600 dedicated graphics is pretty hard to beat for its price... im sure this baby can give the over priced xps a run for its money...

unless you guys see a better deal for $1500 im sure this is as good as it gets... am i right?
