Alright so HD-DVD is no more but are there any new firmware updates for this dumb drive? it seems that every HD-DVD i get except for the one that came with my DV9000, doesnt work!

I know there is the HP21 upgrade, I know Acer have the AC05 and AC06 upgrades and Toshiba the TF31 and TF32. Any others? Does anyone have any older HP updates? Or any newer updates?

I gotta say, worst HD-DVD drive ever!

HD-DVD will probably have decreased support since they lost. So firmware releases might cease or difficult to find

I dont think toshiba would spend anymore time or money with HD-DVD

Well I may possibly have a newer update, but it may seem older if that makes sense....

I actually have the new model hd-dvd drive TS-L802 B in my dv6000 which was purchased in January '08. The firmware on that drive is HP5 and there is absolutely no new firmware anywhere I can find. I believe this is the same version as the old firmware for your drive?

It has played every hd-dvd I've tried, which is >20 flawlessly, so IDK if this firmware is different or even flashable on your drive....

Well it would certainly be worth a go. dunno if it was the same as my old firmware cuz I cant remember it exactly. I also dont know if there is a way to back up this from your drive though.

I don't know if there is a way to get the firmware from my drive either. I am able to locate the firmware update HP10 (April 2007) http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/genericSoftwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=pv-47666-1&cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&dlc=en&lang=en
if you want to roll back. And you already have HP21, but I can't find anything about my firmware at all. Seems strange....

If there is a way to extract the firmware from my drive I would be willing to do it if you can come up w/ some solution..... :)
