I bought the s-video cord to connect my notebook (hp notebook ze5600) to the tv using the tv now option but when I play a dvd it won't show. All I get is a black screen. What am I doing wrong?

I've read similar issue on this site. It could be a few things:

    1. Did you hit the Fn+F4 a few times(or whatever the function key it is to output to external video)? You need to hit this key to have it display on either VGA out, SVideo Out or Shared Out (LCD & external).

    2. Try dropping your resolution down, some TV's can't display the higher resolutions.

    3. Some users indicated that replacing the cable with a different one worked for them. It may just be the cable causing the problem. Try searching the forums for this issue.
