    TV Tuner Mini Connector

    Any one know what type of mini connector this is? MMCX? MCX? MMC?

    It is for the internal tuner on my HP dv8t. HP customer support can't help me and the tuner manufactuer, AverMedia can't help me either.

    im not sure if its exactly the same but my AverTV Hybrid nano express has a cable connector that looks like that - not sure about the name though

    hmmm... according to avermedia's website, the AverTV Hybrid nano express uses an mmcx connector.

    But when I google 'MMCX' the images of that type of a connector look like this:

    Does yours look like the one I took pictures of, or does it look like the one above? It's hard to tell fromt he picture I took, but mine isn't a continous metal band; but rather is divided into 4 semi circles.

    I'm just trying to figure out if the mmcx connector looks different but will still work.

    The slits cut in the connector are so it can flex and go in and out easier. They make TV coaxial cables like that too.

    awesome. thanks you guys. it's a shame HP's support wasn't more useful. but i guess that is where notebookreview comes in to fill in the gaps. reps all around. i've ordered an mmcx to f-type adapter from ebay for $7.50 shipped.
