Well, my darn luck. Bought a tx 1000 today, and tomorrow I travel to Europe. Might have time to go to circuit city for an exchange, but it was the last unit they had. Problem? The digitizer appears to not be working. Is there any chance it is a software issue? I have updated everything through HP's update and windows update.

What's happening? When I start writing in the TIP, I do not get smooth lines but dots every so often, as if the digitizer is reading the pen position at longer intervals than it is supposed to.

Anything I could try before going to the store tomorrow? It is clear it is a deffective unit, andI I know it is likely they will give me my money back if there is no units to replace this.

BTW, nice rip-off attempt at Circuit City. Amazing they try to pull this off. Girl selling me the computer told me I had to buy new 2007 software to run with vista, that older versions of Office and other programs would not work... reaaally?? Wow, I must be a computer genius, the do work on my other pc's!!

    Anyway, thanks for suggestions,

BTW, the tx1000 series has a passive digitiser which means it wont be as accurate as a active digitisier. Plus you will have to use a bit more pressure when writing on the screen. It is basically a touchscreen rather than a wacom device.
