I have a TX1000 running Vista and none of the synaptics touchpad settings are available. Under devices all that shows up is "wheel mouse on PS2 port."
Because of this I can't turn the touchpad off while typing which is driving me crazy. I'm using the drivers that came with the notebook and Vista was preinstalled.
Any suggestions?
-
try uninstall/reinstall the synaptics touchpad drivers

I tried that and I still have the same problem.

is'nt the button above the touchpad used to turn it on and off? does that need the drivers installed to work? though it was a hard wired button.
in control panel, mouse, driver, advanced, there should be a link to a synaptics config page. -
All you have to do is update the drivers
