I have a TX1000 running Vista and none of the synaptics touchpad settings are available. Under devices all that shows up is "wheel mouse on PS2 port."

Because of this I can't turn the touchpad off while typing which is driving me crazy. I'm using the drivers that came with the notebook and Vista was preinstalled.

    Any suggestions?

is'nt the button above the touchpad used to turn it on and off? does that need the drivers installed to work? though it was a hard wired button.

in control panel, mouse, driver, advanced, there should be a link to a synaptics config page.

All you have to do is update the drivers
