My main concerns are battery life and heat. I don't want a hot laptop and I want good battery life. 3-4 hours at least. I am going to be mainly listening to music and using it for college, word processing. I do open a lot of documents at the same time, so I do want it to be able to do some multiprocessing.

The smaller the better obviously... but the bigger one is 14.1in so it's not exactly big.

Basically, do you guys think the tx1000 will be too hot? I have read a few reviews that say it gets pretty hot but I have read similar things about the 2500T. Any thoughts? Thanks.

My tx1000z kicks out a lot more heat than my dv6000t. I think the AMD processor just runs hotter. I love the package and touchscreen features of the tx, but heat is an issue. I have not run full battery life tests yet, but so far I am glad I bought both the regular and larger batteries. They seem to go pretty quickly.
