I came across the new TX2500 model at Circuit City yesterday (LINK) and wanted to test out the HD playback capability of the ATI HD3200 chipset. I transferred a snippet of a TV show I recorded off the air using my USB TV turner device. The total size of the file was ~1.2GB in size and ~11 mins in length.

    THE PLAYBACK WAS FLAWLESS.

The smooth playback was like night and day compared to my HP dv6000 with nVidia Geforce Go 6150 graphics.

I think it's time for me to upgrade ;)

The HD3200 is definately a big improvement over the Go 6150. The dv5z looks like a good option especially with the WSXGA+ screen.
