    Hello,

Today I decided to try out tf2 on my new laptop dv6-6030je with AMD 6770m gpu.

At first the game was really choppy with a lot of screen tearing issues even with vsync enabled both in catalyst control panel and in-game. So i thought updating catalyst drivers would fix it.

Apparently updating to 10.7 did fix the screen tearing, but textures now appear low res and pixelated even with everything maxed out. I still manage constant 120 fps, but what's the point when even intel graphics 3000 can manage better look/textures.

Hell even the in-game menu is pixelated: http://i.imgur.com/6uF4Y.jpg

I decided to open a new thread about this issue since i haven't seen any other threads or posts mention it. Hopefully someone would shed some light on the issue.

Go into the Catalyst Control Center and set the texture and mipmap options to Quality or High Quality.

Mipmap and texture options aren't there as far as i see. Are you sure you are in Advanced mode?

Ah, they put it under Catalyst A.I... Mipmap is texture filtering. Along with anisotropic and things like that, looks like they merged them in the latest drivers.

I haven't updated in a while as the latest card i have is the HD3870 on my desktop, which doesn't benefit from new drivers anymore. Try moving that slider towards High Quality.

Yes, mine is also on advanced, and it looks the same, none of those options.

I don't have my dv6t anymore, but when I did I saw all of those options.

Did you Windows update your catalyst? Search around Catalyst you should find those settings somewhere

I'm using 11.7b hotfix found here: [email protected]

    Found in this FAQ thread

Anyway I moved catalyst A.I slider towards high quality and the problem is finally solved now.
