My webcam in my HP 6121tx is VERY choppy, I don't know why. Not just when video chatting, it's choppy inside Youcam too.

How do I fix this? I wouldn't mind lowering the resolution if that's the cause.

Have you tried using something other than the pre-installed webcam software? Mine was very laggy with the Cyberlink YouCam stuff, I figure it is just poorly optimized, but works fine with anything else, like Skype.

Lighting is crucial with the sensors on these cameras. The sensor drops FPS when there is bad lighting. They work best with ambient natural lighting.

Well, for Skype, go to Video Settings, Webcam Settings, Camera Control, and uncheck "Low Light Compensation". Gives me a fine framerate.

Probably the wrong thread to ask, but is the built in web cam decent quality in this HP model?

Disabling this setting boosted a lot the "fps" of my camera, so i second this suggestion.
