    Hi there,
I just finished polishing this configuration, and I must tell you, it rocks as hell, so I thought I would just share it with you, so:
I got an Envy 14, as we all know it is capable of doing 3 x 1 Eyefinity when using the ATI graphics card (5650).
So I got first the Dynex miniDisplayPort to VGA adapter and hooked up my Envy to one of my old 15" screens via VGA. The image quality was and is nice, so I moved forward.
Next I bought a HDMI to DVI-D cable from eBay (max. 3 USD w/shipping from China :)) and a DVI-D 15" monitor, I got one for only 25 USD or so.

I connected everything together, and that was it, the Envy immiediately recognized both screens and allowed me to configure them as an Eyefinity group, so I used the Envy's screen as the center display and the two monitors as side displays.
It is not perfect, since the Envy's screen's diagonal is only 14,5" and the aspect ratio of it is 16:10 when my other two screens have a 15" diagonal and 4:3 ratio, BUT it is usable, at least for gaming.
While playing a game the size differences don't really matter, but the extended view you got is freaking awesome :).

I installed Race Driver: GRID, hooked up my old USB wheel and I am loving it so far. I changed the resolution to 2400x600 because at 3072 x 768 the game was a little bit slow, but with this resolution and no AA enabled I have a minimum of 25 frames per sec. and a max. of 35-40 giving me an average of 30-33 fps which is great considering the huge resolution I am running the game and the type of my GPU (remember, it is not an Envy 17 with the strongest 58xx series GPU).

I am proud of my Envy.

    Now the costs:
    2 monitors - max. 50-60 USD I think
    2 cables - 10 USD

This gives you a total of 70 USD which is a really good price for such an awesome configuration.

An older USB wheel which is perfect for casual gaming could be picked up around 5-10 bucks.

So, under a hundred bucks you got a 3-monitor Eyefinty setup with awesome picture quality and casual gaming enabled.
Only one drawback is known namely the different sizes of the screens make this configuration not really usable for desktop working.

    Have fun!
    DOMy

I'd love to see a photo of your setup. :)
I have one spare 15" and one 17" monitor sitting around but their bezels are fat and their stands unadjustable so it becomes difficult to align everything. :/

Would you know an equivalent to the "Dynex miniDisplayPort to VGA adapter" since i'm limited to buying stuff from South Asia and it's mostly non-brand equipment.

I just looked at HP's website and their HDMI to VGA converter is outrageously expensive, it looks like this project is going down the drain for me :(
(that is unless someone can tell me where to find a replica of the adapter)

Sorry for bad quality, but here is a picture of my setup:

If I were you, I would try eBay for the adapters, it is really cheap and they ship everywhere on the globe :)

Well, if you got enough space (it is really hard to get so much free space on my desk :S) it is just awesome...

With an old USB steering-wheel and an old joy-stick (as handbrake) it is just killingsuperawesome configuration for some virtual drifting with friends.

I am thinking of getting a usb beer-cooler and then my cockpit would be complete :D

Did CCC let you do this out of the box? I have the new Envy 15 it has a HDMI and a DP, but CCC doesn't even have a tab that allows me to configure any of these settings.

Im having the same problem with the ccc, I have the hp envy 14 2020nr and my intel graphics display manager controls the display output and not the ccc even when switched to discrect graphics. Does anyone kno how to gett around that, i already have two monitors to hook up to my envy for eyefinity display.
